The Heart Behind Color My Monday

Hi, I’m Molly Guza—an elementary art teacher and the creator of Color My Monday.

I started Color My Monday because I deeply care about kids having access to meaningful, high-quality art education. Every child deserves the chance to create, explore, and express themselves through art, no matter their background, ability level, or resources. In my classroom, I see every day how powerful creativity can be for building confidence, curiosity, and joy.

Color My Monday is also for the amazing art teachers who pour their hearts into their classrooms. I know how much time and energy it takes to plan engaging lessons while juggling everything else teachers do. My goal is to support and inspire other art educators by providing ready-to-use lessons, ideas, and resources that make teaching art a little easier—and a lot more fun.

The name Color My Monday came to me because Mondays can be hard as a teacher. It’s easy to wake up feeling a little blue and struggle to find the motivation to start the week. But every Monday morning when I step into my classroom and begin creating with my students, they truly color my Monday brighter. Their creativity, energy, and joy remind me that each day is an opportunity to bring more color into our lives. I believe we all have the power to color our days however we choose—not just on Mondays, but every single day. Through art, creativity, and a positive mindset, we can make each day a little more vibrant.
